Nancy Taylor Zaborowski, 73, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Nancy was born in 1953 in Wilmington, Delaware, to Lloyd and Helen (Dawson) Taylor. She grew up alongside her four brothers, Jeff, Bill, Daniel, and Tom, and her two sisters, Janet and Virginia, and spent much of her life in the North Wilmington area.
She attended Mount Pleasant High School, graduating in 1971, and began a 40-year career at Wilmington Trust Bank, where she built lasting friendships that stayed with her to the very end.
Nancy will always be remembered for her sweet, gentle nature and kind heart. To those meeting her for the first time, she could sometimes seem shy, but those who knew her well knew she had a wonderful, often unexpected sense of humor. She was a loyal friend who viewed her friends as family, and once Nancy loved you, she was faithful to you to the end.
She loved to cook and was a lifelong baker, often making beautiful cakes for her loved ones for any and all occasions. She also had a creative spirit and loved drawing and painting, as well as going to the theatre. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and a lover of all of her “fur babies” over the years.
Above all, Nancy was devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Grasso, and her husband, Billy, and her beloved grandson, Otto, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her siblings Bill (Linda); Virginia; and Tom (Diane).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Helen Taylor, and her former husband and friend, Edward J. Zaborowski, Jr.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 14, 2026, from 10-11 AM at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 followed by a celebration of Nancy’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
