Frances Ann (Michael) Miller, age 81, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Frances graduated from Thurmont High School in Maryland in 1964. She worked as a dental assistant and artist, as well as in what she considered her most important role: being a mother and “domestic goddess.” She volunteered at the Mary Campbell Center and was a member of the Rehoboth Art League, the Absalom Jones NCC Art Studio, and the Maris Grove Warm Glass Club. Fran spent 30 plus years creating and teaching art through her two favorite mediums: pottery and fused glass. Her artwork was displayed at a number of Art Galleries throughout Delaware such Studio 50, the Rehoboth Art League plus The Station Gallery in Greenville. She loved entertaining friends, spending time with her grandchildren, thrifting, traveling, and, above all, being with her family.
Frances is survived by her husband, James C. Miller; her daughters, Beth Wall of Colorado and Michelle Figueroa of Delaware; her grandchildren, Jack Gonser of Florida; Giles, Kaden, and Piper Wall of Colorado and Illinois, respectively; Ryan Figueroa-Parsons of Pennsylvania; Bear, Cali, Jordan, and Juliana Figueroa, and Keandre Buckham, all of Delaware; her sisters, Beverly Clabaugh and Ottolee Hewitt, both of Maryland; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15, at 12:00 PM at Brandywine Valley Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. A visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. A luncheon in the Fellowship Hall will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Fran’s honor to the Absalom Jones NCC Art Studio, 310 Kiamensi Road #B, Wilmington, Delaware 19804.
