Agnes Munden, 80, passed away peacefully July 21, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, strength, loyalty, and cherished memories.
Agnes was a devoted mother to her son, Shawn Munden, and his wife, Sarah, and to her beloved daughter, Christine, whom she affectionately nicknamed “Ritty.” Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater joy than watching them grow and thrive.
She was an incredibly proud grandmother to her four grandchildren—Jordan Griffith, Harrison Munden, Aiden Munden, and Ava Munden. One of her greatest sources of pride was that three of her grandchildren attended her beloved alma mater, Henry C. Conrad High School, from which she graduated in 1963.
Agnes was blessed with many friendships over the years, but she especially treasured her lifelong “core members”—Mary, Julia, and Sara K. Their friendship was a constant source of love, laughter, and support.
Those who knew Agnes knew she was fiercely loyal to the people she loved. She worked hard throughout her life and faced challenges with determination and resilience. While she could be serious and steadfast, she also possessed a unique sense of humor that could brighten any room. She had a special ability to make those around her smile and laugh, often when they needed it most.
Agnes will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and friends, her strength of character, her loyalty, and the countless moments of joy she brought to others. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4th at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808). The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at Gracelawn Memorial Park will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Sunday Breakfast Misson or Faithful Friends.
