David A. Wood, 70, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 after a battle with cancer.
David attended Mount Pleasant High School and began his working life as a pipe fitter in the Navy yards before moving into retail sales and service, working as a retail salesman with Sheehy Ford and Sears Automotive. He also served as a driver for Delaware Express, where he brought reliability and dedication to his work.
He loved billiards and could most often be found around a pool table, enjoying the game and the company that came with it. David was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, a passion he shared with his daughter and granddaughter.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia S. Wood and Eugene Wood.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Spencer and her husband, Jeromy Spencer; his grandchildren, Jacksen Spencer and Cassandra Spencer; and his sister, Diane Wood.
David will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of the game of billiards, and the memories he shared with his family and friends.
