Sandra Flannagan Darnell, of Middletown, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family.
She dedicated 35 years of her professional life as a dental hygienist, serving patients in Delaware, New Mexico, and Washington State. She was known for her commitment to her profession and the compassionate care she provided throughout her career.
Sandra is survived by her sons, Bill (Katie) Flannagan, Mike (Melody) Flannagan, and Sean (Kathie) Flannagan; daughter, Okie (Richard) Taylor; sisters, Jeannie (Walter) Brandli and Carole (Bob) Cooper; brothers, John (Connie) Wencius and John (Diane) Vaught; grandchildren, Joanna, Thomas, Annie, Pheobe, Willow, Kyle, Neelix, Chris, Myra, Kaylee, and Autumn; 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Vera, Jenny, Jason, and Jesse.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 31, 2026, from 11 AM – 12 PM at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 followed by a service in celebration of Sandra’s life at 12 PM.
In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, guests are encouraged to honor her memory with lots of flowers at her service
