Martha Miller Wright, 84, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1942, in Brownsburg, Virginia, and moved with her family to Wilmington, Delaware in the mid-1940s.
Martha graduated from Brandywine High School in 1960, where she met her high school sweetheart, Jeremiah Fletcher Wright, Jr. They were married on August 25, 1962, and celebrated 63 years of marriage in 2025—a testament to their enduring love and commitment.
Martha was a devoted member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church in Wilmington from 1980 until she and her husband retired to Rehoboth Beach in 2002. She continued her faith journey at Midway Baptist Church and remained active in her faith community throughout her life. After moving to Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA in 2023, she returned to Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, where she found comfort worshipping once again.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Miller; her mother, Genevieve Dudley Miller; her brother, Edwin Miller; her daughter, Michelle Martine; her granddaughter, Ashley Molineux; and her son-in-law, Garret Northam, Sr.
Martha is survived by her beloved husband, Jeremiah Fletcher Wright, Jr.; her brother, James Miller; her sons, Michael Wright and William Wright; and her daughter, Lisa Northam.
Her legacy continues through her eight cherished grandchildren: Melissa Martine, Justin Martine, Katherine Martine, Garret Northam, Jr., Kaitlyn Diakogeorgiou, Jeremiah Ryan Wright, Sean Wright, and TJ Wright. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.
Martha will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle strength, and her deep commitment to her family. She found joy in the simple moments—gatherings with loved ones, serving others, and living out her values with quiet grace. She is now in the arms of her Savior, at peace and reunited with those who went before her.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, at 11:00 a.m. at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, followed immediately by burial at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Martha’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
A life so richly lived leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
