Margaret F. Burt, age 60, of Bear, DE passed away on February 1, 2026 at Accent Hospice surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wilmington, DE to the late John Paul and Charlotte Foley.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, MaryAnne Foley and Theresa Carney, her brother Johnny Foley, her sister-in-law Barbara Foley and her stepson, Matthew P. Burt, Jr. Margaret is survived by her husband of 30 years, Matthew Burt, her sisters, Joanne Foley, Lillian Foley (Stephen), Charlotte Foley (Pat) and her brother Paul Foley (Ana) also nephews and nieces Billy, Kasey, Lindsey, Jonathan and Hunter. Great nephews and nieces William, Abigail, Raylan, Jayden and Blythe. Great-Great nephews and nieces Bellamy and last but not least Isabella who shined a light at the end of this journey. As well as many other loving family members and friends.
Margaret was a fantastic wife, stepmother, sister, aunt, friend and coworker. Margaret worked at DuPont for over 20 years. Climbing from secretary to customer service to finance, always the go to person at every level. Margaret was dedicated to her family, hosting the Christmas Eve celebration for many-many years and always there to help or give advice. Margaret and her husband loved traveling to Disney World and joined the Disney vacation club, where she was able to send multiple family and friends on dream vacations. Margaret was a wonderful woman to so many and she will be missed very much.
