Lorraine J. Farrugia, 86 formerly of Pearl River, NY and Tom’s River NJ, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in her home at The Residence at Chadds Ford in Glen Mills, PA. Lorraine was born and raised in the Bronx, NY to Albert and Margaret Santomauro (Giammetto) on July 9, 1939.She graduated from St. Helena’s High School in 1957 and attended classes at Hunter College.

Lorraine was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and teacher. Lorraine met the love of her life, Anthony, at St. Helena’s church dance and later married in 1960.They spent 65 beautiful years together.

Lorraine is survived by her devoted husband, and her three loving children and their families: Gerard Farrugia (Susan), Veronica Marine (John), and Donna Vivinetto; seven grandchildren Christina Farrugia Linder (Russell), Ashley Noschese (Tim), Emily Farrugia, John Marine (Jessica), Mollie Marine, Eric Vivinetto, and Scott Vivinetto; and three great-grandchildren Brooke Noschese, Averie Linder, and Chase Noschese.

After a brief stint with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and raising her three young children, Lorraine worked in the Pearl River School System for over 25 years as a teacher’s assistant where she provided love and support to her many students and took pride in their work and success.

She traveled the world, and with Anthony by her side, they filled dozens of photo albums with hundreds of memorable vacation pictures that included her favorite trips skiing in Vermont, the Swiss and Italian Alps and the Canadian Rockies.She was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing with her grandchildren, and she loved playing Mahjong and card games with her friends and round after round of Monopoly and Rummikub with her grandchildren.She was known for her lucky streak and always seemed to come out a winner.

Lorraine took immense pride in her family, who brought her endless joy and laughter.She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Family gatherings filled her heart; she never missed a chance to celebrate with them, attend their sporting events and plays, or simply spend time being surrounded by the people she loved.Lorraine was loving, patient, and endlessly giving and she created a home filled with warmth, support, and unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren always knew she was there — steady, dependable, and deeply devoted.

Lorraine will be dearly missed by family and friends who will always remember her warmth, humor, kind spirit and moves on the dance floor.

The family wants to express their deep appreciation and thanks to the staff at The Residence at Chadds Ford, for their kind caring service and support of Lorraine and her family during the past two years. Also, a special thank you to accentCare, Hospice services for their kindness and loving care provided to Lorraine and support to her family during the past few months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Saint Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00 am.A private interment at All Saints Cemetery will be held at a later date.
