John Charles Borsos January 5. 1939 to January 23, 2026

John C. Borsos, age 87, died Friday, January 23, 2026, at Ephrata Community Hospital with his family at his side.

John graduated from Chichester High School in 1957 and attended a two-year electrical technology program at Penn State University, then he furthered his education through many IBM training courses.

John worked at IBM for 34 years as a service engineer, technical specialist, and manager for IBM, handling many educational assignments. John worked positions located in Philadelphia, Delaware County, and Delaware, one such role being the set-up and management of an IBM educational center in Philadelphia. After retiring, John worked as an IBM contractor at Kodak.

John was an active member of several churches and active in the community. He served on the deacon board and as property chairman of the old Bethel Baptist Church where he was a member for 28 years. He also served on the Council of Civic Organizations of Brandywine Hundred of New Castle County for over 15 years and was the president of the Tarleton Civic Association for over 15 years as well.

John was a passionate distance runner and competed in many races. He also enjoyed classical music, bicycling, and swimming, with golf being his number one hobby. Despite his many interests, John always made time for his family. He was an outstanding father and loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and they loved him too.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judith Gayle Borsos; children Gwen Kay Bretz (Mark) of Ridley Park and Kevin Charles Borsos (Bonnie) of Media, PA; grandchildren Stephanie, Kelsey, Jenna, and Bailey; great grandchildren Lliam, Hannah, Emerson, Sophie, and Baby Price.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 29, at 9:00 AM at Garden Spot Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 with a funeral service at 10:00 AM. A committal service will be held at 2:00 PM at Edgewood Memorial Park, 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA.
