Bruce Joseph Gollicker Sr., age 78, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at Christiana Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Bruce was the son of the late Theodore Gollicker and Martha Copes, and stepson of the late William Copes. He attended Dickinson High School and Goldey-Beacom College. Bruce loved animals, baseball, music, and—most of all—his family. He worked for many years in the fire protection industry and in the DJ entertainment business.
Bruce was social, kind, honest, and loyal. He enjoyed spending time with his family, exploring baseball stadiums, and playing music both professionally and recreationally. He had a deep love for animals and cared for many cats and dogs throughout his life, including his most recent companions: Shadow, Gwen, Holly, Pepper, and Rose. One of his favorite joys was taking the dogs for car rides to get ice cream.
Bruce was devotedly married to his wife, Beverly Jean Gollicker, for 55 years. Though two different people, they shared one heart—inseparable in life, love, and now death. Together, they raised three children, Bruce, Bryan, and Lauren Gollicker, and were blessed with two grandchildren, Leila and Holden Gollicker, who loved their Pop-Pop.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 30, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware. Interment will be held at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bruce’s memory to All 4 Paws Rescue, Chester Springs, Pennsylvania.
