Dallas P. Walker, Jr, age 93 of Wilmington, DE passed away, surrounded by loved ones at his home on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late, Helen and Dallas P. Walker, Sr. Dallas graduated from Brown Vocational School. He then proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force.
Directly out of the service, Dallas started his long career with IBM. He retired as a chief engineer and continued as a consultant until 1997.
Never one to slow down; Dallas was an active volunteer. From the 70’s to the 2000’s he coached, umpired and worked on the maintenance upkeep of Midway Little League and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Dallas also was an ASA Umpire. Using his skills with computers, he was the timekeeper for over 15 years for the DAP Delaware Push Mobile races. Dallas was a long-time member of the Brandywine Valley Church where he was the sound tech as well as in the Tape Ministry (recording services and sending them to homebound members)
Dallas is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Walker; two children, Steven J. Walker and Debbie Walker (Fran Riddagh) and four grandchildren, Allison Walker, Brooke Walker, Kristin Walker and Jacob Neuwien. He is also preceded in death by his son David P Walker and his sister Carolyn Williams.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 22 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 12:30 at Brandywine Valley Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE
