Marietta Arnone, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Born on October 14, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, Marietta spent her younger years surrounded by the vibrant culture of New York. Later in life, Mary and her husband made their home in Wilmington, DE,
Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Arnone. She is remembered by her two sons, Marc (Beth) and Christopher (Danielle). Her four beloved grandchildren, Kathryn, Joshua, Gabriella, and Isabella, brought immense joy to her life and will continue to honor her memory with their own achievements and kindness.
Marietta had a zest for life and enjoyed exploring new places through travel, indulging her love for shopping, and relaxing at her cherished retreat in Millsboro. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished every opportunity to create special memories with them, whether it was celebrating birthdays with fun outings, sleepovers, or simply enjoying laughter-filled afternoons together. Every moment spent with her family was precious to her.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 16, at 12:00 pm, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends may call after 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marietta’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization dedicated to supporting those affected by the disease and advancing research for a cure.
