Donald (Donnie) M. Lyons, Jr., age 64, of Newark, DE, passed away on August, 20th, 2025. Donnie was a native Delawarean. He graduated from the Joseph P. Douglass Opportunity School in Wilmington, DE. He had a short-term job working for Dupont in the mail room.
Donnie discovered Easter Seals and attended their day program for over twenty years enjoying the company of many friends and participating in Special Olympics at the center.
Donnie loved playing on his Kindle Fire. He loved watching old TV programs: The Three Stooges, Andy Griffith, M.A.S.H. He also loved the Eagles football team and watching them play.
Some of his favorite things to do is going to Chick-Fil-A and Dairy Queen for lunch and going to Delaware Park to play the penny machines. Donnie loved going to family events and parties and being around his nieces and nephews.
Donnie is survived by his sister, Ann McKamey (Vaughn brother-in-law), two nephews Vaughn Jr., (wife Pam), Rhonda,( husband Bob), and Michael (fiancée Sandy). Four great nephews and four great nieces and 5 great great nephews and one great great niece.

A funeral service will be held at McCrery and Harra’s Kirkwood Hwy. location: 3710 Kirkwood Hwy in Wilmington, Delaware, August 26th. Visitation will start at 10am with service at 11am. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery.
