Richard W. Braun, 84, of New London, PA, formerly of New York, NY, Elizabeth, NJ, and Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2025, after an 18-month battle with bladder cancer. Born November 15, 1940, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married Marion J. (Shaw) Braun in 1962, sharing more than 50 years until her passing in 2013. He is survived by daughters Stephanie Braun and Tanya Braun-Webb; grandchildren Amelia and Joseph Webb, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Lynda Braun; along with many extended family members whom he loved dearly.
Richard earned his degree from Rutgers University while serving in the U.S. Air National Guard. He spent more than 50 years with Hanover Shoes, later Clarks of England, where he was admired for his loyalty and leadership. Remembered for his wit, love of history and travel, and devotion to family, he will be deeply missed. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at St. Philip’s Church, Wilmington, DE.
