Marcos Trujillo-Medina, age 57, passed away at his home in Wilmington, DE, on August 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after courageously battling ALS for two and a half years.
Born on April 25, 1968, in Tenancingo, Mexico, Marcos later met and married his beloved wife, Maria Romero-Martinez. A devoted husband and father, he cherished his two daughters, Reyna and Elizabeth, and his son, Jhoan. Marcos lived his life with courage, optimism, gratitude, and selflessness. Wherever he went, he brought joy, positivity, and a smile to those around him.
Marcos was full of energy and determination. From a young age, he worked tirelessly and, over the past 30 years, dedicated himself to landscaping, construction, painting, and business. He believed deeply in the value of hard work and the importance of growth and perseverance. He instilled in his children the virtues of resilience, dedication, and kindness.
He enjoyed reading, being outdoors, and spending time with loved ones. His favorite moments included watching action movies with his family, walking with his dog Mimi, and sharing life lessons with his children. Deeply proud of his Mexican roots, Marcos often said no one could ever surpass his wife’s cooking. His family remembers him as an intelligent man, full of wisdom and humor, a loving provider who encouraged them through every challenge with laughter and cheer.
A man of strong faith, Marcos was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish for more than 20 years. Even through his illness, he trusted in God’s plan and never doubted His presence.
To those who knew him best, Marcos will be remembered for his ever-present smile, his willingness to help, and his hardworking hands. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and generosity, and he will be deeply missed. His family extends heartfelt thanks to all relatives and friends who offered support during these difficult years. As Marcos often said, “You can do it.”
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Rd, Wilmington DE 19808, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place privately.
