Shirley May Samson, age 86, passed away on May 3, 2025.
She was a secretary for IBM in Philadelphia and a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Shirley sang in the church choir and directed as well through the years. She enjoyed making and teaching ceramics and traveling with her husband.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles W. Samson, Jr. She is survived by her son, Daniel C. Samson (Sally), her daughter, Cheryl L. Prentice (Neil), her two grandchildren, Benjamin Samson (Elizabeth) and Jennifer Gochenaur (Sawyer), her five great-grandchildren, Lucy, Colton, Kaden, Annie and Evelyn, her sister, Beatrice Rosenberg and two nieces, Debora Rosenberg and Barbara Abney.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 where a memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m.
